I was wary. 2001 Students won 10 medals at the Upper-Midwest Bakery Convention. 1-Gold medal, 3- Silver medals, 1-Bronze medal in Danish, 1- Silver medal, 1-Bronze in Beginner Wedding Cake, 1-Silver and 1-Bronze in Beginner Specialty Cake

 1-Silver medal in White Pan Bread.

2002 Students won 20 medals at the Upper Midwest Bakers Convention.  2-Gold, 12 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals in Cinnamon rolls and Wheat bread.

 2002 Certified first student into the Certified Journey Baker classification (2001).


1995 Invited and participated in providing Confectionary Christmas tree Ornaments for the Clinton White House. Theme was “Visions of sugar plums danced in their heads.”

1996 Students won 9 trophies at the Upper-Midwest Bakery Convention.  1st Places- Student Specialty Cakes, Student Wedding Cake, Peanut butter Cookies, 2nd Places- Student Specialty Cakes, Student Wedding Cake, Banana Bread, Decorative Dough, 3rd Place- Wild Rice Bread and Dec. Dough.

1995 Students won 3 trophies at the Upper-Midwest Bakery Convention.  1st Place- Coffee Cake, 2nd Place- Student Wedding Cake, 3rd Place- Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. 

Augusta Bakery, located in Augusta, WI, was named the 2016 Bakery Operation of the Year (BOY) by the Wisconsin Bakers Association (WBA). The award was presented on Monday, March 7th, 2016 during the WBA's Awards & Appetizers Networking Evening in Milwaukee. This year's awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Midwest Foodservice Expo.

Four outstanding Wisconsin bakeries were nominated for the Bakery Operation of the Year this year. Past Winners of this award voted to determine this year's winner. The recipient of the BOY award remained a secret until the moment the name of the bakery was revealed. Natalya and Robert "Bob" Chaffee, CMB, owners of Augusta Bakery, were in attendance to accept the award.

2016 Wisconsin Bakery Operation of the Year 


The Bakery Operation of the Year award was created in 2001 to recognize an outstanding bakery operation annually. Each year's winner gets to keep the coveted BakeMark trophy for one year and the traveling trophy is then passed on to the new winner. The winner also receives a permanent plaque to display in their bakery.
